[MISSING] List of 50+ Things the Tai Lopez SMMA Course Lacks

If you’re thinking of making a change in your life and starting your own online business or social media or digital marketing agency, then online courses are a great way to learn and form the foundation of knowledge you’ll need in order to be successful.

However, there are a lot of courses available. How can you find out which one is the best without wasting a bunch of money on the ones that aren’t worth the cost?

Well, today I’m going to walk you through one of the most hyped social media marketing agency courses to let you know what it’s missing. Don’t be fooled by the marketing for this course—it might not have the information you’re looking for.

Who is Tai Lopez?

Before we get into the course, let’s do a little background on the man behind the course himself, and on how the course became so well-known.

Tai came onto the online scene in 2015, and quickly rose to become one of the top personal development gurus on the web. CEO of an online education company where he sells training courses teaching people how to achieve “health, wealth, love, and happiness.”

He was the first person doing an online education course to leverage Google Ads. To promote his courses, he started buying video ads on YouTube and went from hardly anybody knowing him to an Internet meme. His video ads were very effective, and reached at least 100 million viewers.

In 2016 and 2017, he started giving his followers more behind the scenes details of his life; he ramped up the expensive purchases and posted pictures of these luxuries on his socials. In addition to his social media presence, Tai gained notoriety because he’s spent tens of millions of dollars on YouTube ads to promote his products

His time is now spent on his new online training business because his social media shows his entire day-to-day is spent creating content and promoting Tai Lopez’s programs. He’s also been very successful in forming a lot of relationships with influencers and other well known entrepreneurs in the marketing industry.

Overall, Tai and his team have created a personal brand through content and ads on YouTube and Facebook, and have been very successful in doing so. In fact, this success has led to Tai being interviewed by Gary Vaynerchuk, Mark Cuban, and even featured in Entrepreneur.

Having taken the course myself I can say that it’s a good course for those who already have a basic knowledge of social media. However, if you’re a beginner it’s better to get a basic understanding of the topics he covers before investing in his course.

Is It Worth It? What Does Tai Lopez’ SMMA Course Lack?

Before investing in any online course, you must make the commitment to put in the work not only in completing the course, but in putting in the effort to apply what you’ve learned to your own business. No course will GIVE you the direct road to success. Lessons are tools that you must implement in building your business.

So you’ve got the drive, but is Tai Lopez’s course going to be worth the investment of time and money?

There’s already one pretty big barrier to accessing Tai Lopez’s SMMA course—it is very expensive at a price tag of $697. That’s a big chunk of change to risk on something that might not be all that helpful to you.

While there is a lot of content that comes with the course, I found that the topics and objectives he tries to cover are too broad. It’s everything from getting rich, to improving your body, to reading more books, to nutrition. To be more helpful, it needs to focus on one niche.

For the money they’re asking, it’s also disappointing to see that the videos are not very polished. They’re low in production quality and the presenters don’t seem to be working off a script. This could lead to difficulty in building trust and credibility.

Another disappointing aspect of the course is that the videos are not presented by Tai. Each video features an “expert” of each subject from email marketing to web design. This hurts his credibility and trust if the “expert” promoting his brand is not involved in the actual program.

Additionally, the videos do not offer much value, as the information is too vague to truly be helpful. The video content is also not updated to continue providing value to the customer. In such a fast-paced industry as social media marketing, where trends and tools and always changing, the lack of updates is a real oversight.

While the initial marketing and ad campaigns for the online course were successful, Tai has started to take a different approach lately. In recent ads Tai comes across as cocky and only interested in promoting his personal wealth, expensive homes and cars, and surrounds himself with bikini clad women. This is not a professional look and does not promote his courses, but rather how easily it is to earn a six-figure income and live the lifestyle he displays in his social media content. He “Sells the Dream” now instead of selling is courses.

The course also misses a lot in terms of what to do once you’ve finished the course. There’s no step-by-step process of how to implement what is covered in the course.

  • It does not show you how to make a contract or how to invoice your customer
  • It does not cover the accounting side of running a SMMA business
  • It does not show you how to register your business. They refer you to go to Legalzoom which is expensive.

Another issue that many people have run into is the money back guarantee that comes with the course. His company makes it extremely difficult to cancel and actually take advantage of this guarantee. This impacts the integrity of his business, because he’s promising something that he’s not willing to follow up with.

Overall, there is no structure to the course, which is particularly difficult because the course is extremely long. There is no flow of topics, so there is no order. There is also no one-on-one contact with Tai to ask questions or anything that might be hindering the user experience. Students can expect limited support.

While on the surface Tai Lopez’s SMMA course may look like a good investment, once you’ve completed it you will realize that it seems more like a marketing tool than anything designed to bring value to the customer.

What Should I Look For in an Online Course?

So Tai Lopez’s course probably isn’t right for you, but you’re still interested in enrolling in an online course. How do you find the right one?

If you’re still on the fence about Tai’s program, at the very least you need to make sure you do extensive research of other courses before investing $697 in Tai Lopez’s program. Check out pricing, what the course offers, whether it aligns with your level of expertise (beginner, intermediate etc.), and what people are saying about the course online. Check out who is presenting the course and check out their socials to so if that person actually knows what they’re talking about.

Understand before purchasing any program that it is hard work and no course can show you an easy way to make a six digit income. If you want to see the results that any online course is promising, then you need to put in the work.

Each person is different. Now that results that are presented in any course or program will not the same for everyone. Set realistic goals for yourself and create a timeline of the milestones you’d like to achieve.
