How to Use Instagram Stickers to Get More Sales [NINJA STRATEGIES]

As digital marketers, we always have to be looking for new and better ways to increase engagement and convert more of our social media followers to customers of our brands and businesses. Platforms like Instagram are always coming out with updates and features to improve the customer experience, and it’s up to us to use our creativity to take advantage of these features. With that in mind, in this blog, I’m going to be going over how to use Stickers on Instagram to get more conversions and more sales.

Instagram Stories to Promote Your Business

Over the past two years, Instagram Stories have become a driving force for small businesses and brands to increase sales. They are a great way to showcase products, events, and services, while also being able to refine your brand’s voice and style.

Recent trends show that an increasing amount of Instagram users are focusing more on curating a feed than uploading an image. This opens up more opportunities to use Instagram Stories as the perfect place to share content that is less curated.

Currently, 80% of Instagram users follow at least one brand on their account, and research also shows that instead of scrolling their feeds all day, users spend longer clicking through Stories. Just as with any content, people are more likely to watch your Stories if they are high quality and put together well. Whether you use the Instagram Stories feature or an external app, there needs to be a certain element of design in each one.

To make your brand more human, show behind the scenes footage of your business. Whether it is a look at your manufacturing process, day-to-day operations, or how you send products to customers, people like this kind of insight into their favorite brands.

Only 22% of brands and businesses regularly share updates that feature behind the scenes of their business. This is an excellent opportunity for your brand to take advantage of this and stand out from the competition. In addition to being great content, it also helps to create a connection between the brand and the customer. This connection is what all businesses should strive for, and another great way to achieve this is through Instagram Stickers.

In the Stories feature you can use Stickers to interact with your customers by asking questions, creating polls, or asking people to show appreciation for a video, product, or an image using a slider bar. This not only engages the customer, but it is also a way to conduct research on a product or create buzz around an upcoming launch.

Stickers also help you interact with your followers in a number of ways, allowing you to get creative in your engagements. Any time you’re reaching out to your users is good, but it’s important to keep things fresh by switching it up, instead of posting the same thing time after time.

Here are just a few ways you can use Stickers on Instagram Stories:

How to Use the Instagram Stories Question Sticker

Nothing sparks a conversation better than a good AMA (Ask Me Anything). On Instagram, you can  start an AMA on Stories by using the Question Sticker!

This is a great way for followers to get to know your brand and get additional information about the products or services you offer. It can also help you be more transparent as a business, as you’re giving your customers full access to pick your brain.

To Use the Question Sticker:

  • Tap the sticker button after uploading a photo or video to Instagram Stories.
  • Select the new Question sticker and then type out your prompt. For example, you could write, “Hopping on a flight…ask me anything!”
  • Once you’ve written your prompt, place it wherever you’d like on your uploaded photo or video and share it to your story.
  • You can also respond to people’s questions on their Stories by tapping a question, typing out your response, and sharing it as a new story.

One great way to use the Question Sticker is by hosting a Q&A instead of just asking a one-off question. Select a topic you’d like to cover with your followers—you can keep it broad or discuss a specific topic related to your business.

Make sure to let your audience know when you’ll be answering questions so they can check back for your answers!

How to Use Poll Stickers on Instagram

Opinions matter, especially from your followers. Learning more about your followers is one great way to turn them into customers—if you know what they want, they’ll be more likely to buy. The best way to find out more about what your followers are thinking is to use the Poll and Vote Stickers.

Instagram Stories polls are also a great way to stop your followers from swiping past your story. Stop them in their tracks by asking them for personal and direct feedback from your target customer.

Instagram now has two different poll stickers you can add to your stories: the classic poll with two customizable answer options, and the newer emoji slider. The feature is also super easy to use!

To Use the Poll Sticker:

  • Take a photo or video and upload it to your Story.
  • Select the Poll sticker and enter your Poll options. For instance, if you’re a clothing brand, you could ask something like, “What Spring trends are you most excited about?” and then enter two different options.
  • Place the Poll anywhere you like on your photo or video.

When people see your story, they’ll be able to respond by tapping one of the two options you’ve provided. And once you publish your poll to your story, your followers can vote and see results in real time.

When you view your own Instagram Story and swipe up to see the list of viewers, you’ll be able to see how many votes each option received and how each person voted. Keep in mind that since polls are part of Stories, the content will disappear after 24 hours. Make sure you check out the final results of the poll before it goes away!

How to use @Mention Stickers!

If you are posting user-generated content or working with other brands or businesses, make sure to use mention stickers!

Not only will the account be notified that you’ve mentioned them, but it goes a long way when it comes to building your community. The account you mention may, in turn, repost and thank you for the mention, or even share it with their followers. This could also be a great way to notify your followers of contest winners if you run contests, or even reposting their photos or videos that they’ve tagged you in.

To Use the @Mention Stickers:

  • Snap a photo or video in your Stories camera.
  • Open the Stickers tray.
  • Tap the @mention Sticker.
  • Type the name of the account you want to tag.
  • Choose from the available options that appear.
  • Scale, rotate, move, or place your Sticker anywhere you want it.   

How to Make Instagram Shoppable

New introductions to the platform have made it great for e-Commerce, and Instagram Stories Shoppable Stickers is another one of these features. By adding in Shoppable Stickers, your followers will be able to buy a product from your Stories with a simple tap on their screen.

To Use Instagram Shoppable Stickers:

  • Select photo or video to upload to your Story.
  • Select the Product Sticker from the Sticker tray.
  • Select the product from your catalog that is featured in the Story.
  • Drag the Sticker wherever you like on your photo or video and share.

More Benefits of Stories Stickers

Another great feature of Instagram and IG Stories is the ability to search by location, meaning that anyone who searches for that location in Instagram will be able to see your Instagram Stories. You can add this in more easily by tagging locations on IG Stories with the Location Sticker.

Hashtags are also an important feature to optimize your Instagram posts and can be equally so for Stories by using the Hashtag Sticker. To avoid ruining the look of your Story with a screen full of hashtags simply type out your hashtags (you can include up to 10 in your stories), pinch the text to make them smaller, and then place a GIF or image sticker over the hashtag text so it’s perfectly hidden. Your hashtag content will magically blend into the background but still be searchable!

To Increase engagement with your followers you must start a conversation with them and get them excited about your brand. By getting their opinions, asking questions, and hosting Q&As, you’ll be able to not only create a better relationship with users, but you’ll also get more insight into what customers want from your business.

This will build loyalty to your brand and create a connection with your followers that will encourage connections to convert into a customer over time! Instagram Stickers are a great way to engage your followers in a fun, creative way.
