You can then use that content to attract new readers and help them discover your brand.
In this article, I’ll be teaching you the methods and tools I use to find interesting topics to write blogs about.
How To Find Blog Topics (9 Tips):
1) Underscore Technique in Google Search Box
Google is a very helpful resource when it comes to figuring out what to write blogs about. If you know the right tricks, you can find a number of blog topics.
To find more obscure topics, you can use Google’s underscore technique. To do this, type in an underscore [_] and one space before your main keyword in Google search. Google will then show you word suggestions that appear before your word.
With this technique, you can discover lesser-known topics that your competitors might not know about. If you’ve been stuck on how to brainstorm blog ideas, then this is a good place to start.
2) Google Autosuggest
If you’ve ever used Google or any other search engine, then you’re probably familiar with Autosuggest. However, did you ever think that this is how to find topics to write about?
To use Google Autosuggest, enter your main keyword in Google and then hit the spacebar. Google will then populate the drop down box with keyword suggestions based on your searched keyword.
Look through the various long tail keywords that are listed and consider that these are search queries that your readers will likely be interested in reading about.
3) Searches Related To
This is another technique of how to find hot topics for blogging through Google. After you’ve searched for your main keyword, scroll down to the bottom of Google Search to the section called Searches Related To. This area looks like this:
This is another great place to discover long tail keywords for potential blog topics. Long tail keywords are becoming increasingly important in orrder to rank higher on Google. The search engine continues to shift toward more natural speech patterns to accommodate voice search inquiries, making long tail keywords essential to good SEO strategy..
4) People Also Ask Box
Another useful aspect of Google is the People Also Ask box. This box shows similar questions that are closely or directly related to your searched keyword. These questions could represent pain points for your readers that you can turn into your next popular blog.
Another cool feature of the People Also Ask box is that when you click any of the questions from the box, it will automatically start showing even more questions. There’s no end to the number of topics you can find by pursuing these related queries.
5) Browse Forums
If you want to know how to come up with content ideas without Google, there are more options. The key to how to get free unique content to your blog that will attract new readers is in learning what your target reader is searching for. To do this, you need to go to the spaces where your readers are discussing their issues as they relate to your niche. The perfect place to do this research is on online forums.
An online forum is a discussion platform where real people communicate on any topic. Forums are untapped sources for finding awesome content ideas, and as a bonus, they’re often extremely overlooked. This means you can find interesting topics that your competitors aren’t covering.
This is a great source because real people are asking real questions in forums all the time—there’s no better way, aside from real-life focus groups, to get to the bottom of how your target demographic thinks and feels.
